Application Description

The device allows for determining the air-fuel ratio (AFR) of the mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine by measuring the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. In most vehicles with sequential fuel injection, the gasoline ECU does not control the mixture composition under high engine load. Incorrect tuning of the fuel system (e.g., in gas installations) can lead to reduced engine power, increased fuel consumption, and even engine damage.

The STAG AFR wideband Lambda controller enables precise tuning of the engine or gas installation so that the air-fuel mixture remains at an optimized level, ensuring maximum engine power while maintaining fuel consumption within normal limits. Thanks to the high-speed measurement of the lambda coefficient, it is possible to monitor the mixture composition not only under steady operating conditions but also during transient states.

The system allows reading of the following parameters:

• Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR)

• Lambda value

• Oxygen content

Hardware Requirements

The STAG AFR kit has been designed for quick installation and removal in vehicles.

The kit includes all necessary mounting components for the sensor as well as connection wiring, but does not include the PC interface.

Power is supplied via the car cigarette lighter socket (12V), and communication with a PC requires a standard USB, RS232, or Bluetooth interface.

A dedicated Windows application has been developed for operating the device. It is highly user-friendly, enhancing the overall usability of the device.
