LPG prices in Europe for holidays

The holiday season has always been associated with increased travels. While the last vacation due to the epidemiological situation was much more often postponed or canceled altogether, this year there is a noticeable trend of an increasing number of trips. More and more often, we also decide to travel beyond the tourist regions of our country. Prices in foreign resorts are comparable to those on the Baltic Sea, in the Tatra Mountains or Masuria. Foreign destinations also tempt with much more certain weather. However, they also have downsides. For years, travel costs have accounted for the lion's share of vacation expenses. However, can they be limited? How to make more money remain in our wallet? You can read about why it is worth traveling by car with a gas installation later in this article.

How much do we save by driving on LPG?

The fact that a gas installation in a car simply pays off does not need to be convinced by experts, mechanics or a huge group of people who drive cars with LPG installations on a daily basis. However, many drivers are afraid of incurring the costs associated with the installation of high-quality installations. Of course, we know that the expenditure in the region of 2.5 thousand. - 3 thousand zlotys may seem large, but in the long term it is relatively small. The price of the installation is of course one thing, but the real beauty of saving can be felt in everyday expenses. While cars with gas installation burn little more than those running only on gasoline, the almost twice lower cost gives us considerable savings. Depending on the engine capacity and our driving style, we can save on average from 160 to even 450 PLN per 1000 kilometers. For people who travel long distances (e.g. vacation), this is a measurable saving. For a better overview of everyday savings and profitability, please visit our calculator on the website, where we will check when the gas installation will pay for itself and how much will be left in our portfolio.

How are gas prices in Poland and abroad?

The holiday season is a traditional increase in all fuel prices in our country. Many experts predict that the prices of traditional EU95 petrol will oscillate around PLN 6. The price of autogas has also increased recently. This is due to smaller supplies from Belarus, through which this fuel flows to us from the territory of the Russian Federation. It is also related to the growing demand related to further travels.

Below is a list of prices from most European countries. Data for July 2021 expressed in PLN / Liter

From the table above, we can clearly conclude that LPG is twice as cheap in almost every country. However, it should be remembered that in some countries the availability of LPG stations is very limited. Apart from fully refueling the gas, it is worth not to forget to fill up with gas as well.

What should you remember when driving abroad with LPG?

As we have already mentioned in the post, available on our blog (https://www.agsiedlik.pl/blog/lpg-w-europie--o-roznych-koncowkach-slow-kilka-a3) in Europe there is no standardization regarding endings for refueling gas. Therefore, depending on the country (and often even its part), we may have problems refueling the car without an appropriate adapter. In addition, at foreign stations, the staff will hardly help us with refueling, so if so far refueling has been done by a person at a gas station, it is worth practicing the process yourself.

As also mentioned above, some countries have a very poorly developed network of LPG stations. Therefore, it is worth planning the route in advance, as well as gas stations where we can stop. The Internet is full of guides for people traveling with vehicles with gas installations. Before each trip, we also recommend that you inspect the installation and the entire vehicle, so that your dream trip does not turn out to be a cause for nerves and additional costs that can be avoided by properly preparing the vehicle for a longer route.
